If you’re thinking about social media just as a place to promote your practice, then you’re doing it wrong. No wonder so many practitioners resist using it! However, if you think about it as a place to further educate your clients, and give them valuable information that they can share with their friends and family, then you’re on to something. Social media is a type of permission marketing, or content marketing platform. It’s a place to build your brand and your reputation, in a space where people have agreed that they want to see what you have to offer. So don’t waste this opportunity by spamming people, and instead embrace it as a way to get to know people beyond their appointment with you.
If you use social media especially well, then it can also be a great place to connect with influencers in your community, or other people and businesses who share a similar philosophy to you.
Follow other people you find interesting and see what they do on their social media account that you really like and that you feel is engaging. Then use similar strategies on your own page. Ask yourself every time you share something if your audience will find it useful, and you’ll be on the right track.
